Thayalam Pillai is IT Professional with more than 25 years’ experience who brings deep engineering expertise to ensure smooth running of enterprise IT Operations. Thayalam has extensive experience in IT Operations, Consulting, Solution Architecture and System Integration across IT domains such as Private Cloud, Public Cloud, Virtualisation, Messaging, Storage, Collaboration and Directories. Currently, he is leading the Cloud Business Unit in ST Engineering’s Mission Software and Services.

Prior to STE, Thayalam worked in GovTech as Head of System Stack for Whole of Government infrastructure. In WoG operations, Thayalam was responsible for endpoints, directories, Microsoft 365 and Messaging & Collaboration. He drove initiatives to enhance the digital workplace via collaboration and communication products in WoG as well as the integration of applications with the Central directories and platforms.

Before GovTech, Thayalam worked in a regional role in DELL Asia for 11 years where his last role was as a Field Engineering Manager for the Storage Services business. He led a team of technical and project management resources in 6 countries providing deployment and consulting services for Dell enterprise servers, storage and networking solutions.

Prior to DELL, Thayalam worked in various organisations including Microsoft Consulting Services, Intelliant Pte Ltd, National Computer Systems and National Computer Board.
