Jacob Tong is Group Chief Information Officer of ST Engineering, a global technology, defence and engineering group with a diverse portfolio of businesses across the aerospace, smart city, defence and public security segments. He joined the Group in February 2020.

Jacob oversees the Group’s Global IT Shared Services and is focused on building a future-ready IT team globally. He is responsible for the Group’s IT digital strategy, IT governance and security. In supporting the Group’s digitalisation journey, his teams have successfully established Digital Cloud platforms for Applications modernisation, AI, Analytics, and Automation.

With an IT career that spans more than 28 years, Jacob started his career as a smart building engineer, co-founded a dot.com start-up that was acquired by a Singapore mainboard listed company, before becoming CIO in various global companies, including Global CIO with Keppel Corporation, a global conglomerate for more than seven years, before his current role.

A beneficiary of Singapore government scholarship, Jacob contributes back to the IT industry and society. He served in Executive Council of Singapore IT Management Association, various education institutions and technology provider advisory boards. He enjoys cycling with friends and use it as a means to raise funds for Charities.
