Vernon Chia is the Head of Cloud Technology Office at Mission Software and Services (MSS), where he oversees all technical aspects of Hybrid Multi-Cloud solutions design and implementation. His responsibilities include the integration of On-Prem Private Cloud systems with Public Cloud platforms.

Vernon's professional journey began as a System Engineer at ST Engineering, where he quickly established himself as a highly skilled individual. He has been involved in numerous system design and implementation projects supporting the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) and other Whole-of-Government (WOG) agencies throughout his career. His extensive experience in this field has led him to acquire a diverse range of certifications, including Nutanix, VMware, AWS, Microsoft, Redhat, and more.

In 2019, Vernon took on the role of Cloud Solution Architect and played a pivotal part in designing and implementing an On-Premise Private Cloud solution for the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF). Additionally, he demonstrated leadership by establishing and sustaining the Cloud Center of Excellence (CoE) for MSS, highlighting his commitment to excellence.

Vernon holds the prestigious title of being the first Singapore-born Nutanix Certified Expert (NCX), solidifying his expertise in the field. His achievement is significant, as he became the inaugural certified expert in the Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) region and one of only thirty-one NCX professionals worldwide at the time.

Vernon graduated with First-Class Honours from the University of London.
